The BVIU provides direct auxiliary instructional support to students attending non-public schools in Beaver County. Funds for these services are provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Education through legislation known as Act 89. These services assist non-public school faculty with appropriate strategies and adaptations for academically struggling students.
The non-public school program serves over 800 students enrolled in Beaver County’s non-public schools providing services such as remedial reading, guidance counseling and speech therapy. The BVIU’s Non-Public Schools Program offers comprehensive Title I Services. School districts may contract with the BVIU to provide Title I non-public school services that meet all federal requirements.
