BVIU’s Audiology and Hearing Support Program helps deaf and hard-of-hearing students thrive in school. Our goal is to increase access to learning opportunities for all children by removing communication barriers that interfere with the development of language and ability to achieve one’s potential.
What We Do
Every year, our Audiology and Hearing Support Program proudly serves hundreds of students, and our team of educators teach essential literacy, listening and spoken communication skills. Our dedicated teachers of the deaf work closely with students, while our educational audiologists bring expertise in accurately interpreting hearing loss and addressing the unique needs of those affected by hearing deficits.
In addition to hearing support, our educational audiologist assists with hearing assistive technology and equipment to ensure that every student has the tools they need to succeed. Our team is committed to professional development and provides training on a range of topics. We advocate for students and for the deaf community at large. Our specialized services Include:
- Direct hearing support services
- Auditory processing screenings
- Comprehensive audiological evaluations and listening environment assessments
- Consultative services for students, educators and families
- Tailored professional development
Together, we create an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
