Director of Curriculum
Ms. McKinley has served as Director of Curriculum for BVIU since August 2019. Fueled by a passion to inspire education professionals to collaborate and provide opportunities for critical thinking and learning, Ms. McKinley has an extensive background in school administration and professional training.
With more than 30 years of experience in the public and private education sector, Ms. McKinley has spend her career developing programs and initiatives to help students grow and learn to think outside the box. She has held various positions including teacher, volleyball coach, administrator, educational consultant and national instructional coach. For a decade, she worked in school administration, specializing in curriculum implementation, in-house cyber programs, BYOT programs for elementary students, Olweus Bully Prevent programs and peer coaching. Before transitioning to BVIU, she lead and created customized professional development programs for school administrations as a national instructional coach with Lead to Learn and served as CEO and professional learning specialist for Critical Thinking Matters, an LLC that encourages leaders to meet people in their comfort zones and provide research-based practices.
Ms. McKinley received her Bachelor of Science in secondary education/communication from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and her Masters PP&M in Educational Leadership and Instruction from Carnegie Mellon University.
