At the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit (BVIU), we’re proud to serve students, families, and educators across Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Our mission is to support learning and growth in every corner of our community—from our 14 local public-school districts to New Horizon School, New Horizon North, the Beaver County Career and Technology Center, five area charter schools, and 11 non-public schools.
Our focus is on providing high-quality special education services, professional development for educators, and administrative support that helps schools run smoothly. Whether offering direct services to students or helping teachers grow in their field, we’re here to make a difference.
As one of Pennsylvania’s 29 intermediate units, BVIU acts as a regional partner to school districts, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and local community agencies. By working together, we deliver innovative, cost-effective programs that help schools meet the needs of every student.
BVIU is governed by a 14-member Board of Directors, with one representative from each of our partner school districts. We also work closely with an Advisory Council made up of the 14 local district superintendents, who meet monthly to review and shape our programs and services.
We’re committed to supporting education in Beaver County—and to helping every child thrive.
