At the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit, we believe every child deserves the best possible start. Our Early Intervention program is a no-cost service for children ages three to five who may have developmental delays or disabilities. We’re here to help children thrive—at home, in school, and in the community.
Our team conducts comprehensive evaluations to identify each child’s unique strengths and needs. Eligible children receive individualized services in the least restrictive, most natural environment—whether at home or in a preschool setting. We partner with families to help children build essential skills and prepare for a smooth transition to kindergarten.
We offer support in key developmental areas:
*Physical (including vision and hearing)
*Cognitive
*Communication and language
*Social and emotional
*Adaptive and self-help skills
Services may include parent coaching, specialized instruction, speech therapy, occupational or physical therapy, and vision or hearing support. All interventions are integrated into daily routines and centered on play-based learning to promote meaningful, lasting progress.
What sets us apart?
*Services are entirely free for families
*Delivered by experienced, compassionate professionals
*Emphasize family involvement and empowerment
*Based on proven, evidence-based practices
Our Early Intervention classroom is also recognized as one of Pennsylvania’s top-performing sites using a language-rich model for children with autism.
At BVIU, we don’t just support children—we build strong partnerships with families. If you have concerns about your child’s development, we’re here to help.
Let’s build a strong foundation—together.
