BVIU COVID-19 Protocols - Effective 12-30-2021

Below are the updated protocols for isolation and quarantine periods for individuals affected by COVID-19.  This update was released on 12/30/2021.  It is absolutely critical that you familiarize yourself with these updates since these are the protocols that are now in place until further notice.

The updates deeply impact the quarantine period for the following people:

  1. People who are within two weeks of a booster that they recently received.
  2. People who received Round 2 of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine more than 6 months ago (but did not receive a booster).
  3. People who received the J+J vaccine more than 2 months ago.
  • If you meet any of the above criteria, then you now have to follow the guidelines for individuals who are unvaccinated.

The following groups of individuals do NOT need to quarantine after being exposed (i.e., close contact*) to someone with COVID-19:

  1. People who have received a booster vaccination and more than 2 weeks have passed.
  2. People who have completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 6 months and thus are not yet eligible for the booster vaccination
  3. People who have completed the primary series of the J&J vaccine within the last 2 months

Substantial changes were also made to the isolation periods for all individuals who test positive for COVID, regardless of one’s vaccination status.  Please read the document below in its entirety.
