Meet the Staff

Jaclyn Dixon- Board Certified Behavior Analyst

     Jaclyn Dixon is a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania and completed with a Masters in Educational Psychology through Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She received her graduate certificate from Florida Institute of Technology in Applied Behavior Analysis and recently became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in January of 2021. She has been working in the field for about 8 years in various capacities and settings. She is excited to be joining the BVIU team to bring the benefits of Applied Behavior Analysis into the public schools..

Shannon Thomas- Registered Behavior Technician

     Ms. Thomas graduated from Geneva College with a Human services degree and have since gone back to school to pursue Certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).  She began her career at New Horizon school as a Substitute teacher and then quickly took a full-time position as a paraprofessional.  In 2020 she joined the behavior team as a behavior technician.

David Rodgers- Assistant Supervisor of Special Services, Board Certified Behavior Analyst

     Mr. Rodgers has been with the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit for the past 7 years as part of the training and consultation department, as a behavior specialist at our center-based school, New Horizon, and is currently the assistant supervisor of special services at New Horizon School.  Prior to working at the BVIU, Mr. Rodgers worked at the Midwestern Intermediate Unit as a special education teacher as well as part of their training and consultation staff for 9 years.  Dave has also worked as a Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) from 2007-2011 and as a Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) from 2011-2020 through BHRS.


     Dave was raised in Butler, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Slippery Rock Area School District.  He received his Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Slippery Rock University in 2004.  He continued on to receive his Master’s of Education degree in Special Education Supervision in 2011.  Dave also attended The Florida Institute of Technology where he completed his coursework needed to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) which he received in 2019.  Currently, Dave resides in Butler with his wife, 2 children, niece and nephew as well as 3 dogs and a cat.
