The five members of the BVIU Training and Consultation Staff (TaC) provide professional development and technical assistance to the professionals, paraprofessionals and support staff that serve the students of Beaver County. Their combined years of experience in regular and special education totals nearly 150 years!
Programs offered by the BVIU TaC team include assistive technology, autism support, early intervention support, para-educator training, special education law, classroom management techniques, emergency permit substitute teacher training, service learning workshops, transition trainings and support, and positive behavior support.
This year over 300 hours of professional development opportunities were made available to over 800 participants from area school districts. These trainings were provided for professional and para-professional staff in the areas mentioned above and included special workshops on brain injuries, DIBELS and Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtII). In addition, the TaC team conducted workshops for newly hired teachers and bus drivers.
